Celoron, NY is a small village with a population of about 2,100 people located in Chautauqua County. It is the home of the Lucille Ball Memorial Park, which is the focal point of the town. Politically, Celoron has an independent mayor and a six-member Board of Trustees who manage and govern the village on behalf of its citizens. The village has traditionally been a conservative stronghold, strongly backing Republican candidates for office who champion smaller government and lower taxes. In recent years, however, the village has become more progressive in its views on social issues such as LGBTQ rights and drug reform as well as environmental protection.
